Yokai no mori

Yokai no mori
Yōkai no Mori (Forest of the Spirits) is a two-player, abstract strategy game inspired by the Japanese game of Shōgi (Japanese Chess). It offers two simplified versions: a quick 3x4 grid for beginners and a larger 5x6 grid for a deeper challenge. Players move their unique "yōkai" pieces—like the Koropokkuru and Kodama—to either capture the opponent's Koropokkuru or move their own to the opposite side of the board. A key feature is the ability to return captured enemy pieces to the board under your control. It's a highly tactical game designed to introduce the core concepts of Shōgi.
