Empire's end

In Empire’s End, you don’t build a civilization from scratch; you try to stop one from collapsing. This "reverse civilization builder" flips the genre on its head, challenging you to manage a declining empire. Each round, disasters (like famine, war, or plague) threaten your territories. The core mechanic is a bid-to-avoid auction. You must spend scarce resources to bid "past" a disaster. If you can’t or won't pay, you take the hit, destroying one of your locations—but you also gain the resources others bid and a unique "innovation" ability from the disaster itself. It’s a game of strategic sacrifice, where you decide which parts of your empire are worth saving and which are better left to burn.
