Taiwan's diverse terrain and climate have nurtured over 400 species of butterflies, including more than 50 endemic species. Records of butterflies in Taiwan date back to the Qing Dynasty, and during the 1950s, large-scale collecting and exports earned the island the nickname "The Kingdom of Butterflies." In this game, players travel back to early 20th-century Taiwan as butterfly catchers, collecting and preserving specimens while racing to publish their research before others. The game is played over several rounds. Each round, players use their starting hand of butterfly cards and try to form as many specimen sets as possible by drawing cards or using discarded cards from other players to exchange for prestige points. The first player to turn their entire hand into specimen sets ends the round and also earns bonus prestige points from the other players. —description from the publisher
