You attract animals by matching their preferred habitat types (e.g., forest, grassland) to the tiles you place in your growing ecosystem. Some animals also require specific resources to be present.
If you can't legally place a tile, you must discard a tile from your hand and gain a consolation token. These tokens may provide benefits later in the game.
Scoring happens at the end of the game. You score points based on the number and types of animals in your habitat, bonus objectives completed, and any end-game scoring conditions specified on animal cards.
